Unit 2: The Roots of Civilization

Unit 2
presents students with such foundational concepts like hunting and gathering, the development of agriculture, the beginning of civilizations, writing, religion, and laws. Two ancient civilizations are the focus of this unit: Sumer and the Olmecs.
