"The Headbutt that Bonked the World"

In 2006, Zidane was considered one of the premier soccer players in the world. During the final game of the FIFA World Cup, France played Italy. In the final minutes of regulation, an Italian player (blue jersey) insulted Zidane (white jersey).

While walking by Zidane the Italian said something unflattering about Zidane's mother and/or Algerian ancestry. Zidane responded like most reasonable people and headbutted the Italian player. The event garnered an avalanche of media attention.
